Meet the owner of WTA
Gordon Wade brings 30+ years of dedicated experience to the aviation maintenance industry. Rooted in a family with a strong aviation background from hisyouth, Mr. Wade furthered his expertise through service in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic on KC-135 aircraft. He holds a degree in Aviation Maintenance from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. His professional journey includes a position at Memphis Aero Corp. at Memphis International Airport in 1978, where he was involved in the maintenance and sales of new Cheyenne, Merlin, and Commander aircraft. Following several years as a mechanic, Mr. Wade served as Director of Maintenance for AMR-Combs starting in 1985. This experience underscored the value proposition of a specialized maintenance facility focused on select airframes, leading to efficiencies in parts acquisition, informed pricing strategies, and a deep understanding of airframe wear characteristics, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Manufacturer’s Service Bulletins (MSBs), and overhaul/replacement requirements.
